Nigerian lawyers lament low pay and poor treatment as they share their experiences on Twitter

Some Nigerian lawyers took to Twitter to lament the low pay most lawyers receive and how shocked they were about it when they started practicing.

 

One said he was asked at his interview how much he’ll like to earn and he said N70K only to later discover that the most senior lawyer in the firm earns 40k.

 

Another pointed out that some lawyers are made to do menial jobs at the firm, including washing toilets, while being paid peanuts.

 

One disclosed that she is made to buy food for senior lawyers, pick up her boss’ kids from school, pick up the boss’ husband’s laundry and also go to the market in search of materials for the boss.
