Bandits raid and kidnap 50 from Niger community

Over 50 people have allegedly been kidnapped following a recent attack on Bassa community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State by bandits. 

 

The bandits reportedly stormed the community in large numbers on motorcycles in the early hours of Thursday January 28, just as people were getting set for the day’s activities. 

 

Punch reported that the Co-convener Concerned Shiroro Youths, Sani Abubakar Kokki confirmed the attack describing the bandits as terrorists. He said the number of people kidnapped is not yet ascertained but added that they were many. 

 

Kokki who disclosed that Shiroro Local Government Area is in dire need of help as they continue to live at the mercy of the bandits, also revealed that some other communities in Bassa/Kokki were attacked and a lot of losses were recorded.
